Spring is here and dance season is almost over, so it is time to focus on my house and yard (i.e. my container garden). Look what has come out of my garden so far this week!
If you are anything like me, you spend a great deal of time in your kitchen. But do you really know what is in your kitchen. Over the holidays, I found spices back in the cupboard that I have no idea how long they were there. I found that I had an empty container of peppermint oil. We don’t even want to go near what I would find pushed back into the pantry.
The thing is as I have learned to cook and eat more naturally the old never got removed it just got pushed back. I didn’t want to throw stuff away, thought it was wasteful, so it has just sat there in the back waiting for the day to arrive when I would purge my kitchen.

For many of us, our day starts out with a fresh cup of hot coffee. To me, a self proclaimed coffee extremist, this is an essential part of my day. Nothing can pull me from my cozy bedchamber except coffee: the ritualized grinding, the comforting sound of joy percolating, the world-renown aroma and of course the rich taste. At first glance my beloved cup of joe would seem to be everything an eco-mom would fear. However, it is possible to not only enjoy your coffee but also contribute to the environment too.
