All Over Moisture Solution

26th December, 2007

This recipe is one of the best overall body, face, and hair moisture solutions. I love it and it is very basic. You really can use it all over your body.

I put it on after every bath, every night on my feet, daily on my hands and lips, and once or twice or week in my hair. My entire family uses it. Brehane had extremely dry skin once th cold weather hit and after a week using this recipe, you could see a remarkable difference.

So here is the recipe and it is so simple:

You need coconut oil and tea tree oil. For every 1 cup of coconut oil add 10 drops of tea tree oil. Mix well and place in an airtight container.

That’s it!

Here are the benefits:

Coconut Oil
Coconut is the ideal oil for a lotion because is protects the skin against damage, promotes healing and give a more youthful, healthy appearance. It helps to keep the skin from developing liver spots as well as other blemishes caused by over exposure to the sun and aging. Coconut oil absorbs into the skin and into the cell structure of the tissues. This helps to protect the skin from excessive damage to the sun.

It aids in healing and repairing as well. My son Brehane had a strange rash from the lower middle portion of his forhead head straight down his nose. The doctor’s told me that it was called “lineastriatus” and that there was no cure for it. ” No cream will help it”, were his exact words. That evening I sat in a on teleconference about the benefits of coconut oil. After hearing it, I thought about my son and asked the expert, who was also doctor if he thought it would work on the rash with a little tea tree oil. the answer was, “It couldn’t hurt to try because it is good for rashes.”

So I tried it and it worked. After a few days the rash was gone, only a faint line remained and it too disappeared after a period of time.

I have also found that in my hair it help it to hold moisture. I use it as a pre-wash conditioner sometimes or a hot oil treatment.

Coconut oil aids in removing the outer layer of dead skin cells thus making the skin smoother. Eventually the skin will become more evenly textured and have a healthy glow. While doing this the it will also penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and strengthen the underlying tissues.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil has been used to treat skin conditions such as eczema and acne as well as run of the mill cuts and bruises. As a result of its ability to absorb into the skin tea tree oil is added to many lotions and creams to ensure smooth, soft, hydrated skin.

In the hair tea tree oil has been used for treating dandruff and dry hair. As a result of its wonderful healing properties, regular use of this oil will unclog hair follicles, moisturize and prevent bacteria and fungal problems from attacking the scalp.

So now you can see why this recipe is my pick for an all over body, hair, and face moisturizer.
